girls five years ago, one of which has autism. The determined singer/songwriter immediately sprang into action and began to research and gather all the information she could on available resources for her daughter so that she could create a safe, love-filled home for her child.

“So many times, we don’t know the resources that are available in the black community, and that’s where Autism Speaks, which is a great organization, comes in and just tells, directs you to all the resources that’s available to kids with autism…As a parent of an autistic child, I think it is extremely important to raise awareness and help our community understand and not be frightened by the disability,” said Taylor.

In the midst of creating hits such as her current single “God With Us,” a song that can help calm souls during this pandemic, Taylor is working feverishly to get the word out about Autism Speaks.

“Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability in the world, and in the last few years there has been an increase in autism rates among minorities. I want our communities to be aware and gain understanding about our children who are in need of special services and kindness.”

If you have a child, or know someone with a child in the minority community, learn more about this developmental disorder that is attacking our children at an alarming rate by joining the conversation with Kathy Taylor today at 4:30p.m. CT on Facebook Live.
