Jonathan McReynolds and Tasha Cobbs Leonard host the highly anticipated 38th Annual Stellar Awards, Saturday July 15, 4:30p.m. PT at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The Stellar Awards will premiere on the newly launched Stellar Network Monday, July 24 and August 6, 2023. The Red Carpet Pre-Show featuring Gospel celebrities in their very finest will air July 30 on and in national broadcast syndication from August 7 through September 10. Known as the premier gospel music awards show, The Stellar Awards celebrates and recognizes the outstanding achievements in the genre.
It will be a night of glitz, glam with performances by some of gospel music’s best. The lineup includes chart topping gospel artists Pastor Mike, Jr., CeCe Winans, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, Naomi Raine, DOE, Tim Bowman, Jr. and Faith City Music, Dorothy Norwood, Maranda Curtis, Zacardi Cortez, Jonathan McReynolds, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard who are all set to grace the stage to deliver soul-stirring performances that will resonate with the heart and spirit of the audience. And lighting up the Emerging Voices stage will be rising stars HLE and Lena Byrd Miles.
Produced by Chicago’s Central City Productions, The Stellar Awards is a star-studded event that attracts gospel music’s finest talent from around the world. This year, Pastor Mike Jr. leads the pack with a staggering 16 nominations. Other artists earning multiple Stellar nominations include Travis Greene & Forward City, JJ Hairston, Maranda Curtis, Bishop S.Y. Younger feat. Sounds of the Ramp, and Brent Jones.
One of the most significant moments at the Stellar Awards is the special recognition to be bestowed upon Gospel legends who have made significant contributions to the genre. Founder Don Jackson continues this tradition by honoring three of the industries iconic artists who have made a profound impact on gospel music worldwide, CeCe Winans, Rev. Dr. Milton Biggham, and Dr. Bobby Jones.
CeCe Winans will be honored with the Aretha Franklin Icon Award, recognizing her talent and impact on the genre. Rev. Dr. Milton Biggham will receive the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifetime commitment to spreading the inspiring message of gospel, and legendary artist and pioneering gospel TV host/producer Dr. Bobby Jones will be honored with the Thomas A. Dorsey Most Notable Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions and influential career.
