Black Music Honors Pays Tribute to Gospel Icon Yolanda Adams

The 2019 Black Music Honors pays tribute to Yolanda Adams with the Gospel Icon Award. Returning as hosts are hilarious comedian, TV and radio personality Rickey Smiley, and actress and Grammy Award winner, LeToya Luckett-Walker.

Black Music Honors was produced by Chicago based Central City Productions. The show was taped live at the Cobb Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta. It airs in broadcast syndication September 14 through October 20. And on Bounce TV October 20 at 12 Noon ET.

In addition to honoring Platinum selling iconic Gospel recording artist, entrepreneur, and Grammy Award winning Yolanda Adams, the two hour star-studded event celebrates artists across multiple genres of music.

This 4th Annual Black Music Honors also pays homage to one of the top girl groups of the 1990s, Platinum selling quartet Xscape, for their 25 year contribution to the music industry  with the AT &T Urban Music Icon Award.

Smooth R&B singer Freddie Jackson has been in the music game for over 30 years. He is being presented with the Legend Award by State Farm. The Hip Hop Icon Award is being presented to a Platinum selling group that helped raise our consciousness from their beginnings in the 1980s to the present, Arrested Development. And sultry R&B singer Tamia is being honored with the Soul Music Icon Award.

R&B singer/songwriter and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bill Withers. Other divine tribute performances that had people up on their feet with admiration and respect at the live taping include, Avery Wilson, Dee-1, Jade Novah, Jagged Edge, Jekalyn Carr, Naughty By Nature, June’s Diary, Keke WyattKelly Price, Le’Andria Johnson, Melanie Fiona, Tevin Campbell, and 702.
