What’s Your Perception of Beauty?

I don’t normally post something like this out but one of my music industry sistah friends sent me a link to check out titled,  the “Dove Evolution”  It is especially good viewing for women and young girls who may suffer from the “I’m not pretty enough” or the “I want to look like the women in the ad campaigns or in the magazine” syndrome – which can lead to low self-esteem issues if that’s what you base your idea of beauty on.

Truth be told, the so-called beautiful people in those ads in the magazines don’t all look  like they look in those images that you may be looking at with envy – or you may be making yourself depressed when you look at them.

Cheer up and do as Kirk Franklin’s hit single says and “Smile.”  We all are beautiful in the unique way God has designed us. So appreciate your full hips or your extra thin ones.  Love your flat chest or  your double DDs, love your self as a size 2 or 16.  You are “fearfully and wonderfully made” and beautiful just the way you are, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Oh yeah, check out the video clip and smile with your fierce and fabulous self!
