LeToya Luckett Stars In Down For Whatever

TV One's Down For Whatever movie posterLeToya Luckett (Greenleaf) stars in TV One’s Down For Whatever. The made for TV movie premieres Sunday, July 22 at 8 pm ET/5pm PT with an encore showing at 10pm ET/7pm PT.

TV One’s first ever action thriller, Down For Whatever tells the story of a brilliant doctor, Tracy (LeToya Luckett), who was given up at birth by her 15 year old mother and became a foster kid. She finds out that her newly discovered teenage biological sisters, Denise Brown (Bre-Z –Empire) and Sonya Brown (Imani Hakim – Everybody Hates Chris), who were also in the foster care program, are cop killers on the run and on a violent path to destruction. The police officer the disturbed youth killed are co-workers of Tracy’s detective husband Mike, played by Hosea Chanchez (The Game). The police are covering up a dark secret about the murder of their parents.

The social worker that placed Tracy’s younger sisters in foster care, comes to Tracy to solicit her help in finding the girls and bringing them in before law enforcement captures them. Tracy goes out looking for the only blood family she knows of against the wishes of her husband, putting her marriage and career in jeopardy. However, the longing to have family in her life pushes Tracy to do the unthinkable.

Luckett said, “The bottom line for me in this movie was unconditional love (between Tracy and her sisters). Everything centered on unconditional love.

I learned so much about Bre-Z and Imani’s characters…Everybody in their daily life, we’re up against choices…choices that were made for us.”

Chanchez added, “You’ve got to have more compassion for people…and embracing the flaw of life in people that we love and we care for… life is not perfect…our purpose is to love, forgive.”

Down For Whatever was written and directed by Tim Folsome, the ABFF TV One 2017 Screenplay Competition Winner.

Down For Whatever is one of the best made for TV pics to bow from the Urban entertainment TV network, TV One. Now I do not want to give too much away, but you must watch this Swirl Films production to see the unexpected, thrilling outcome. It has a Thelma and Louise twist to it.
