Hello 2014 , Good Bye 2013

2013 was filled with natural disasters, a healthcare war and school shootings.
Yet it had bright spots and elements leading towards a bright 2014.

  1. Consumers felt good about the economy so they spent more.
  2. The Philippines' Typhoon Hainan killed thousands and brought out the best in humanitarian efforts around the globe in 2013.

  4. President Obama's Affordable Healthcare Act, aka Obamacare, was upheld by the Supreme Court.
  5. There were school shootings, claiming almost 20 lives in 2013.
  6. We lost some beloved leaders and celebrities, including Nelson Mandela, Lee Thompson Young, George Duke, Bobby "Blue" Bland, NFL Hall of Famer – Deacon Jones, Tuskegee Airman – John Allen, Civil Rights Leader Rev. T. J. Jemison, Lou Myers (Different World – sitcom) and NFL player Thomas Howard.
  7. On the upside, the economy became stronger.
  8. Consumer spending rose and jobs increased to numbers that haven't been seen in eight years. And Wall Street had its best year yet in 2013.
  9. Wall Street wasn't the only area where there was good news. The housing industry also saw growth. 
  10. While the housing industry saw increase due to consumer confidence, so did the auto industry. 
  11. The auto industry experienced increase in 2013 and expects growth in 2014 as well.
  12. Jobs, affordable healthcare, an improved economy, renewed consumer confidence, the auto industry and housing rose in 2013, and are all predicted to be on the rise in 2014.

    So here's to a very good year ahead and all the blessings it has ago offer.
