Daycare Operator Fights for Freedom in Finale of TV One’s Evidence of Innocence

In today’s climate of wrongfully accused and falsely imprisoned individuals stands a photo, production still from TV One show Evidence of InnocenceTV show to present such cases, TV One’s limited crime and justice series Evidence of Innocence. Each one hour episode gives an in-depth look into the lives of four wrongfully accused individuals who are fighting for their freedom.

The finale of this true crime story show is Monday, June 25 at 10pm ET. Hosted by Civil Rights Attorney Benjamin Crump, this episode will spotlight daycare operator Melonie Ware as she fights for her freedom. Ware was accused of killing an infant who died mysteriously at her Atlanta area home daycare in 2004.

wrongfully convicted of killing a child (considered by many of the incarcerated of being among the lowest of the low of crimes), Ware has maintained her innocence in the face of doctors and law enforcement officials who say that she killed the infant in a fit of rage. Meanwhile, Ware’s husband remains faithful, fighting for his wife’s freedom while exhausting the family’s finances.

“The show…casts a revealing light on one of the grossest injustices regularly produced by the nation’s flawed criminal justice system: the incarceration of the innocent,” said Michael Fletcher of The Undefeated.

Evidence of Innocence was created and executive produced by Emmy and NAACP Image Award winner Rushion McDonald of 3815 Media in partnership with Jupiter Entertainment.

Evidence of Innocence’s finale airs Monday, June 25 at 10/9 CT on TV One.
