War Room triumphs at the box office raking in over $11 million. The faith-based movie about the power of prayer over family and faith family took second place in box office revenue just below bigger budgeted Straight Outta Compton.

The Tri-Star Pictures release was written and produced Alex and Stephen Kendrick. Their Kendrick Brothers production company is also responsible for faith-based hit movies include Fireproof and Courageous. War Room stars Priscilla Shirer, T.C. Stallings, Karen Abercrombie, Beth Moore, Michael JR, Alena Pitts, Alex Kendrick and Jaden Alexis Harris.
Faith-based films are raking in millions with their built in Christian/church audiences. According to boxofficemojo in 2014 Noah grossed over $100 million, Heaven Is For Real brought in $91 million, God’s Not Dead reigned in $60 million and Son of God pulled in $59 million in box office dollars.
War Room’s strong showing at the box office is evidence that movie audiences have an ongoing appetite for quality faith-based and family entertainment films.
