The Legendary Rakim is Honored with the I AM HIP HOP ICON AWARD
BET Music Matters’ Artist Kendrick Lamar Takes Home Lyricist of the Year Award.
The show features a Star-Filled Violator Tribute to Chris Lighty Featuring 50 Cent, Fat Joe, Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes and a Tribe Called Quest Reunion on the Hip Hop Awards Stage.
Hosted By Comedian Mike Epps, “THE BET HIP HOP AWARDS” Encores will air Thursday, Oct. 11, 9-11pm ET; Saturday, Oct. 13, 10pm-12am ET and Wednesday, Oct. 17, 8-10 pm ET.
This year marked the seventh annual BET HIP HOP AWARDS hosted by funnyman Mike Epps. The BET HIP HOP AWARDS delivered an exceptional night filled with hip hop’s biggest stars and highly anticipated performances. Wiz Khalifa opened the show with a performance of “Work Hard / Play Hard” featuring Juicy J and Young Jeezy accompanied by a live band.
