Produced by Swirl Films, the lifestyle series, Life Therapy with Life Coach and actress A.J.Johnson (Baby Boy, School Daze, House Party) premiered on TV One  in November 2021. And according to A.J. Johnson, the series has 18 episodes. Although Johnson could have very well chosen to have a celebrity driven show, she decided to delve into the struggles of every-day people seeking healing for their mind, body and soul. She said, “I didn’t want to take the chance that the audience thought it was just a celebrity driven show, because it’s not. It’s not about celebrities. It’s therapy. And celebrities are people too. We all have issues.” This is not Johnson’s first time coaching people. She has a celebrity client list as a certified life coach from years back. The list includes Gabrielle Union and Tisha Campbell.  Plus, she has appeared on shows down through the years utilizing her gift and purpose on shows on OWN, VH-1, MTV and Love and Hip-Hop Miami.

Johnson, a Spelman College graduate with an academic background in psychology and chemistry, along with her team of mental health experts, has tackled a myriad of issues of her guests on Life Therapy, including, money, and health issues of black women such as fibroids. Johnson said, “I’m honored that TV One saw me worthy of so many cases. I mean some of these cases that we are handling on the show, they are new categories for me. I’ve dealt with weight loss. I’ve dealt with death. I’ve dealt with alcoholism and drug addiction. I’ve dealt with grief and more.”

The latest episode deals with women who were the victims of botched butt implants or injections sharing personal stories about their traumatic experiences. Johnson said, “I call them victims because it’s a very dangerous thing…And in the beginning, a lot was not known about it but because the BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) is so popular, and everybody’s getting all these butt surgeries and injections. I want women to be well informed about what they’re doing, and the risk that they’re taking with their bodies and their health for a vanity situation.”

Life Therapy with Life Coach A.J. Johnson and her team is on a mission to make sure you are as healthy as you can be in every area of your life. The show offers real solutions to real problems any one of us could be facing at any given time. Tune in Tuesdays on TV One at 10pm ET/9p.m. CT. It just might be the beginning of your healing.
