Kirk Franklin Long Live Love and 400 Years A Slave

photo of Kirk Franklin's album cover, Long Live LoveKirk Franklin’s Long Live Love Tour has been stirring up audiences with something old, something new, something traditional and something new that’ll make you dance, dance, dance this Summer. Along with special guest Koryn “Won’t He Do It” Hawthorne, they’ve set souls afire with their brand of gospel music. Long Live Love Tour, which has drawn a legion of old and new fans out in droves, wraps on the West Coast this week. The tour will stop Wednesday, August 13 in Sacramento, Thursday, August 14 at Fox Theater in Oakland and Friday, Kirk Franklin and Koryn Hawthorne close out at the Long Live Love Tour at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles.

I saw the concert, or should I say “church program” in St. Louis at Friendly Temple M.B. Church. With his raspy speaking voice and admittance of the fact that he “can’t sang,” but thankful that the people came out to see him, Kirk had people on their feet from the time he stepped onto the state until the time he said good night. Koryn was also gave a praiseworthy performance and lit up the crowd when she sang her hit, “Won’t He Do It.”

If you’re on the West Coast, make sure you check out the “show, program, concert” this week.
