Jekalyn Carr announced the 50th Annual GMA Dove Awards Nominations on Facebook Live, Wednesday, August 14. Carr also co-hosted the live-streamed event with renowned Contemporary Christian Music artists Natalie Grant and Karen Peck.
Additionally, the 22 year old Grammy and Billboard Award nominated singer/songwriter received Dove nominations for Gospel Artist of the Year and Traditional Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for her hit radio song “I See Miracles.” The Billboard chart climbing song was co-written with Jekalyn’s father, Allen Carr who doubles as her manager. Daddy Carr is also a Grammy Award nominated songwriter/producer himself. Talk about a talented family!
Among those receiving the most nominations for Dove Awards in 2019 are Lauren Daigle with six, followed by Kirk Franklin and for King and Country, each nabbing five and just one nomination behind are Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Phil Wickham and Toby Mac, with four. The 50th Annual GMA Dove Awards ceremony will be held at the Lipscomb University Allen Arena, Tuesday, October 15, 2019 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM CDT in Nashville. The show will air exclusively on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), Sunday October 20 at 8p.m. EST/5p.m. PST.
