Gabourey Sidibe Stars in Lifetime’s Give Me Back My Daughter Premiering Saturday, April 5

Academy Award-nominated actress Gabourey Sidibe stars in the Lifetime original movie, Give Me Back My Daughter, Saturday, April 5, at 8p/7c. The film delivers an emotional and gripping story about resilience, motherhood, and the power of community support.

Sidibe portrays Renee, a devoted mother struggling to rebuild her life after losing her job and facing eviction. With no place to turn, Renee and her young daughter, Imani (played by Cadence Reese), are forced to live out of their car. Determined to maintain her independence, Renee refuses public assistance, but her choices soon lead to heartbreaking consequences. One day while on an interview for a job, she leaves Imani in the car. This results in and her being arrested and daughter Imani is then taken from her and placed in Child Protective Services.
