Grammy award winning gospel recording artist CeCe Winans performs on the 6th Annual Black Music Honors special. It airs this Saturday, June 19-20 on Bounce TV in select markets, commemorating Juneteenth, the federal holiday marking the end of slavery in the United States.
Emmy Award winning talk show host and comedienne Loni Love will host the two-hour special awards ceremony which honors artists and musicians who have made significant contributions to the tapestry of American music.
The honorees for this year’s Black Music Honors are Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Angie Stone (Soul Music Icon Award), Grammy nominated singer/songwriter/actor Ginuwine (Urban Music Icon Award), Stellar Award winning and Grammy nominated gospel artist/songwriter Marvin Sapp (Gospel Music Icon Award), and Grammy Award winning jazz maestro Ramsey Lewis. The Legacy Award will be presented to Nashville-based The National Museum of African American Music. Henry Hicks III, CEO of the organization will accept.
Joining CeCe Winans on the performer’s list will be Montell Jordan, Jacquees, After 7, Syleena Johnson, Pleasure P, Stokley, Avery*Sunshine, J. Moss, Q Parker, Bahamadia, Chrisette Michele, Jac Ross, Mumu Fresh, Kevin Ross, Theresa Tha Songbird, and Zacardi Cortez.
The 6th Annual Black Music Honors is syndicated nationally on broadcast television June 19-20 in key markets, including Los Angeles at 10am PT on KABC (ABC), in Atlanta at 5pm ET on WATL (MNT), in Philadelphia at 2pm ET on WPSG (CW), and in Chicago on Sunday, June 20 at 7pm CT on WGN (IND).
