Gospel icon CeCe Winans and Hip Hop star Lecrae are set to perform at the 50th Annual Gospel Music Association (GMA) Dove Awards. The GMA Dove Awards will take place live Tuesday, October 15 in Nashville, TN at Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University. The show will air exclusively on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) Friday, October 20 at 8p.m. ET/5p.m. ET.
Besides CeCe Winans and Lecrae, the list of performers slated to lift up souls at the GMA Dove Awards includes some of Gospel and Christian music’s best and brightest, as well as legends and icons of the genre, like Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and Steven Curtis Chapman. The latter three will join CeCe Winans on stage for a special icon performance. Nominee Lecrae joins the performance line-up with the likes of nominee MercyMe. There will be a special worship music moment with Phil Wickham, Brian Johnson and Bethel Music Band.
Earlier this summer, TobyMac, Hillsong Worship and Kirk Franklin were announced to be among the performers at the 2019 GMA Dove Awards. From the looks of the list of performers expected to grace the Dove Awards stage, one can easily see that some of every type of music within the Gospel and Christian genre will be represented on the show.
GMA President Jackie Patillo said, “We pride ourselves on using the Dove Awards stage to showcase the diversity of our genre and this year is no exception! It’s going to be a memorable night and we can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line-up.”
The 50th Annual GMA Dove Awards will pay tribute to 50 years of special performances, appearances and stage highlights representing half a century and a world of change.
So whether you like Rock, Rap/Hip Hop, Pop/Contemporary, Inspirational, Southern Gospel, Bluegrass, Country or Worship music, all that and more will be represented at the 2019 GMA Dove Awards, offering musical diversity past denominations in the genre of Gospel and Christian music.
Only professional members of the GMA can vote for nominees. However, the entire GMA membership can vote to pick the final winners. For more information visit www.doveawards.com or www.gospelmusic.org
