BET Sunday Best Season 10 Premieres Tonight

BET Sunday Best poster artworkThe premiere gospel singing competition BET Sunday Best returns for a 10th season on Sunday, July 5th at 8p.m. ET/7p.m. CT on BET.

Once again Grammy Award winning recording artist and producer Kirk Franklin serves as host. Two of the show’s veteran judges, “Get Up Mornings” syndicated radio show host and Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Erica Campbell and Grammy nominee –  star of BET’s American Soul, Kelly Price, and newbie, Grammy nominee/Stellar Award-winning artist Jonathan McReynolds join Kirk in the much-anticipated series return.

Auditions were held earlier this year, before the “lockdowns,” at The House of Hope in Atlanta. The season 10 winner will receive a recording contract with RCA Inspiration, a cash prize of $50,000 and the title “Sunday Best.”

Sunday Best recorded the show’s first three episodes before a live audience at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta. But like everything else out here in these “Corona Streets” of 2020, the way production is normally done had to be changed for the safety of the judges, crew members and contestants to ward off the spread of COVID-19.

New and innovative technology, techniques and artist-generated content were used to complete production of episodes four through eight of season 10 – allowing the viewing audience to join in on weekly praise & worship during the time when America needs it most.

In addition to soul-stirring, hand-clapping performances by the contestants, the show will feature star studded exclusive performances by Yolanda Adams, Marvin Sapp, Mali Music, season 9’s winner, Melvin Crispell, III and more to be announced in the coming weeks.

Sunday Best Season 10 is executive produced by Jesse Collins, CEO of Jesse Collins Entertainment (BET Awards, The New Edition Story), and Dionne Harmon (The Bobby Brown Story, Hip Hop Squares). Jeannae Rouzan-Clay (Dear Mama, Black Girls Rock!) also serves as executive producer, and showrunner. Torrence Glenn (Celebration Of Gospel, Trumpet Awards) is co-executive producer.

Gospel and inspirational music fans are going to love the fiery, make-you-cry and jump up and down shouting performances the show is known for on the way to the crowning of the 2020 BET Sunday Best winner. Tune in and get inspired!
