Reach Records Drops Artist/Producer GAWVI from the label and the We Are Unashamed Tour due to Sexual Misconduct Allegations, behavior that is not in line with that of the Christian based company.
The label released a statement saying, “Due to behavior that is inconsistent with our core values, we have ended our professional relationship with GAWVI. This was a tough decision for us because of the level of complexity and because we invest in our artists not just for their talent, but also as brothers and sisters in Christ. This is something we have been processing for over a year and have wrestled with what would be the right way forward. New details that were provided made us realize today’s decision was necessary. We also want our actions to be a reflection of love, care, and concern for those who fail and those who are affected by our failures. Each of us needs God’s grace and we invite you to pray for the families and individuals whose lives are being impacted. This is not a chance to throw anybody away. We continue to hope for restoration to be the outcome.”
According to hip hop site Rapzilla.com, GAWVI was released from Reach Records due to claims of sexual misconduct allegations. GAWVI also reportedly announced his divorce on Instagram. We have not verified this.
GAWVI ‘s bio and artist information on the roster have since been removed from the Reach Records website.
The Latino American producer and Dove Award winning songwriter honed his crafted under the tutelage of hit makers Rodney Jerkins and Pharrell Williams’.
GAWVI initially signed to Reach Records in 2012 as an in-house producer and engineer. He has produced chart topping hits for Lecrae, Andy Mineo and Trip Lee.
This story is still developing. In the meantime, I suggest we pause and offer up a prayer for the talented GAWVI.
