I was shocked and saddened to find out yesterday that according to the Hollywood Reporter, Lee Thompson Young, former Disney star of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s hit TV show, The Famous Jett Jackson and most recently, Detective Barry Frost on the TNT hit, Rozzoli and Isles was found dead by police in his North Hollywood, CA apartment. According to the Los Angeles Police, the Los Angeles Fire Department was contacted and they pronounced Young dead at the scene, the result of an apparent suicide.
When he didn’t show up to work on the set of Rizzoli and Isles, the police were summoned which lead to the discovery of Young’s body.
I was a fan who really enjoyed Young’s work, from his starring role in the Famous Jett Jackson up to his last as a cast member of Rizzoli and Isles. In my humble opinion, his work was honest, he had good comedic timing and his body of work is something the whole family can watch.
Only God knows what may have provoked this talented, inspiring young man to take his own life when he had so much to live for. His death was senseless and a loss to the Hollywood creative community. I am praying for his family and friends.
Rest in peace Lee Thompson Young – The Famous Jett Jackson. You will be missed.
