The nominees were announced for the 2018 Grammy Awards this week. Some of Gospel’s most celebrated artists received the highly praised nominations, including Tina Campbell, Travis Greene, Marvin Sapp, JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise, Anita Wilson and The Walls Group.
In the Gospel and Christian music categories, multiple nominations were earned by Le’Andria, Ce Ce Winans, Tauren Wells and Mercy Me. Each of these artists nabbed two nominations from the five categories allotted for the Gospel and Christian music genres.
Leading the way overall with the most Grammy nominations is hip hop mogul JAY-Z with eight, including a nomination for record of the year. He is followed by Kendrick Lamar with seven nods. “24 Karat” Bruno Mars is in third landing six nominations. Rapper and Emmy award winning actor, Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover and singer Khalid both are sitting pretty with five of the music world’s most coveted award nominations.

The 60th Grammy Awards will air live from New York City’s Madison Square Garden on January 28, 2018.
