Central City Productions’ Stellar TV premiered Black History Honors, a 4-part docuseries honoring heroes of the Underground Railroad at a special screening and reception hosted by Marc Morial, President of the National Urban League at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati before a packed house of local and national VIPs during a wintery mix storm. Black Music Honors is in syndication to 175 Broadcast television markets airing now through March 5th.
Black History Honors pays tribute to Underground Railroad heroes through stories and gospel songs. Among the legends honored in the inaugural docuseries which debuted on February 4th are Harriet Tubman, Henry “Box” Brown, Sojourner Truth, Jermain Wesley Loguen, John Parker, Margaret Garner, Robert Smalls, William Still, John and Jean Rankin.
The groundbreaking educational and entertaining Black History Honors features musical
tributes to the heroes by some of gospel’s brightest stars, including Donnie McClurkin, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, JJ Hairston, Kelontae Gavin, Doe, Mali Music, Tasha Page Lockhart, Brian Courtney Wilson, Zacardi Cortez, Brandon Camphor and One Way. The University of Cincinnati’s African American Cultural & Resource Center Choir also served up a musical selection before the appreciative audience.
Among the VIPs in attendance at the live screening, which was followed by a Q&A panel discussion, were the series’ creator and producers
