Those of us who grew up watching Sherman Hemsley, star of the 70’s TV sit-com The Jeffersons and the 80’s church based sit-com, Amen are truly saddened at his passing on yesterday. News outlets report that he died in El Paso, Texas where he resided.
No cause of death has been made public yet.
Borrowing from the lyrics of The Jefferson’s theme song, he has finally moved on up to that “De-luxe apartment in the sky.”
Sherman Hemlsey was 74 years old. He will be missed.
