Hidden Gem Entertainment and Silver Lining Entertainment proudly announce that production has officially wrapped on the highly anticipated romantic comedy The Soul Mate Experiment, a fresh and soulful addition to the wave of new Black romantic comedy films audiences are craving. Produced by Angela White, p.g.a., and written, directed, and Executive Produced by acclaimed filmmaker Tamera Hill, the film stars Erica Peeples, Brad James, David Banner, Teresa Celeste, and Cocoa Brown in a heartfelt, humorous exploration of modern dating, Black love stories, connection, and commitment.
In a world overflowing with dating apps, first-date jitters, and fears of commitment, The Soul Mate Experiment follows Tammy (Erica Peeples) and Vincent (Brad James), two strangers who choose to skip the small talk and take a bold leap of faith, agreeing to fall in love on their own terms. What begins as a daring social experiment romance quickly transforms into an emotional journey filled with laughter, revelations, and the hard truths about what it really means to love and be loved.
Alongside Tammy and Vincent’s whirlwind connection, the film digs deep into the complexities of Black marriage through Trey (David Banner) and Angie (Teresa Celeste), a couple navigating struggles during their fifth anniversary. As both relationships face secrets and self-discovery, The Soul Mate Experiment invites audiences to reflect on whether love is destiny or design, while showcasing the authenticity and heart that have become trademarks of African American filmmakers and culturally rich independent film production.
The project marks another milestone for Tamera Hill, known for the Netflix feature Never Heard and the upcoming film The Secret Between Us (Fall 2025). As founder of Hidden Gem Entertainment, Hill continues building a distinct body of work rooted in authenticity, humor, and emotional truth. Those signature elements shine again in The Soul Mate Experiment.

The film is produced by Angela White, p.g.a., a trailblazing force in independent Black cinema with over 45 films to her credit. Next month, Angela celebrates the premieres of two Lifetime Original Movies she produced—Terry McMillan Presents: Preach, Pray, Love (Nov. 8) and the two-part film event Friends and Lovers (Nov. 15–16). The Soul Mate Experiment is another powerful addition to her diverse slate, continuing Silver Lining Entertainment’s mission to amplify diverse voices, empower underrepresented storytellers, and elevate authentic Black love stories on screen. The Soul Mate Experiment is slated to premiere February 2026.
