The Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF) recently wrapped on its latest festival in Hollywood, CA and Founder/Executive Director Tanya Kersey is proudly boasting of its success.  The  niche cultural event took place October 25-28, 2012 at the swank W Hotel.  Film screenings took place at the Montalban Theater in Hollywood.

The HBFF opened with the world premiere of  “Note To Self” and after party. The red carpet arrivals included the cast of Note To Self and entertainment industry VIPs, such as Christian Keyes, Eva Marcille, LaToya Luckett, Richard T. Jones, Jackie Christie (Housewives of Atlanta)and more.

And people are still talking about the encouraging Wells Fargo Bank sponsored session, “Faith and Film: A Conversation with Devon Franklin,” where the Columbia Pictures  executive and author (husband of  actress Meagan Good)  inspired a sold-out crowd with empowering nuggets like, “don’t be anxious about tomorrow, that you miss the blessing of today.”

Other festival highlights include Author/Radio and TV Host Michael Baisden’s  Story Live Staged Reading and Director/Playwright Don B. Welch’s workshop that featured seasoned actors performing scenes from finalist’s scripts submitted for consideration.

Congratulations to the Hollywood Black Film Festival on a job well done. I really appreciate the fact that they took into the economic times we are living in and offered some sessions free to the public.
