I wouldn’t be true to myself if I did not tell you this.  As a Gospel music fan, my favorite album of all time by Aretha Franklin is Amazing Grace (Atlantic Records) (1972). This album touched my heart and inspired my life. With songs like the traditional title track, “Precious Memories,” “Climbing High Mountains,” “Mary Don’t You Weep,” “Old Landmark” and the contemporary “You’ve Got A Friend,” the Grammy Award winning multi- platinum album was Aretha’s biggest selling album in her fifty plus year career and one of gospel’s best selling albums.
Aretha Franklin was not only a “Queen” but a jewel in the crown of music of this country whose contribution will live on for centuries to come.
